A home for Mikyo Dorje is within our gift!
We have been deeply inspired by the kindness of all those who are contributing to the project.
This newsletter highlights the current situation for the development, financial planning that is taking place, and ways to support the project.
We discuss the value of standing orders for the long term success of the project, mirroring the success of Dechen Centres for last 50 years.

Gifts from the heart
The wheels of the project are turning with a greater speed as we move into the final months of 2024. We have found a suitable space, Haughton Farm, which has the potential to be a beautiful site for the establishment and flourishing of the Mikyo Dorje Institute. Now is the opportunity to pull together and purchase the land - the first major step in creating a space to honour and promote truly human values - dignity, compassion, patience, wisdom - that will benefit not only Buddhists but the people of Shropshire and further afield. Showing that these values can be lived with sincerity and joy is more important than ever in these modern times.

We were immensely fortunate to welcome His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, for a week of teaching and blessings in the north of England in July of this year. During that time members of the project team had the opportunity to present the Mikyo Dorje inspiration and story-to-date with His Holiness and Lama Jampa Thaye. This was a special event for all of us involved. Read on for details.

Autumn 2023 Newsletter
In August many people in Dechen met His Holiness Karmapa at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, in France, where His Holiness talked about how being able to receive the dharma is a great feature of being human, and through having an awareness and appreciation of the tradition of dharma, or transmission of knowledge and wisdom from teacher to student, will allow it to continue into the future.

The swan’s progress…
A swan appears to make no effort as it glides on a lake. Yet, all the while, it is paddling away invisibly under the surface.
In the same way, the Mikyo Dorje Institute project team has been working hard in ways that are not always visible to move the project steadily along.

Autumn 2022 Newsletter
