Gifts from the heart
"We're at a very important and exciting point for the development of Mikyo Dorje. Our groups, our centres and we ourselves will be benefited by its existence. Let's press on resolutely!"
Lama Jampa Thaye, 14th September 2024
We are close to completing the first stage in fulfilling Karma Thinley Rinpoche's and Lama Jampa's wish to build an institute to ensure the continuation of the Dharma: finding and buying a suitable piece of land.
Kagyu Dechen Buddhism is currently holding £200,000 in the Institute’s bank account, thanks to the open-handed generosity of a small number of people.
We estimate that the purchase costs for Haughton Farm, together with professional fees and initial renovation costs will be £2,000,000.
The plan is to complete the purchase of Haughton Farm using a combination of cash donations and a bank loan. The loan will be serviced through monthly standing orders, rent from tenants and income from dharma activities.
We have an informal agreement, with the vendor, to complete the purchase early in 2025. To meet this deadline, all funding needs to be in place by the end of December 2024.
Many people have asked how they can contribute to the development and help create the grounds for happiness.
