Kagyu Dechen Buddhism
Modern times, timeless tradition
Kagyu Dechen Buddhism (KDB) is an independent charity, but together with other charitable trusts in the UK, Germany, USA and Mexico, it is connected to an international association of Sakya and Karma Kagyu Buddhist centres known as ‘Dechen’ (Tibetan for ‘Great Bliss’), founded by Karma Thinley Rinpoche and Lama Jampa Thaye.
For nearly fifty years the Dechen centres have hosted many major visits from the heads of the Sakya and Karma Kagyu traditions, including H.H. Sakya Trichen and H.H. Karmapa.
All the centres maintain an extensive schedule of courses, Buddhist meditation practice and teaching under the spiritual direction of Lama Jampa Thaye.
They also provide support to Karma Thinley Rinpoche’s nunnery Tekchen Lekshay Ling in Boudha, Nepal as well as the Sakya Nuns’ College in India.
